How to Clean Painted Walls Like a Pro

 

When it comes to dirt and stains, the wall is one of the more vulnerable areas of your home. Unfortunately, there is only so much you can hang the picture to hide the evidence. The good news is that you can clean the walls were painted successfully. The following tips can help you get rid of those stubborn marks and stains on your walls.

Specify the Paint Type. Semi-gloss or enamel finish is more durable than flat, stains, or eggshell so that they can stand up to strong cleaning products. Regardless of the type of paint, always use a soft sponge rather than abrasive paper to prevent scratching.

Remove Dust and Debris. Run your vacuum cleaner brush attachment gently on the wall clear of dust and other loose debris.

Protecting Floor. Place a towel on the side edge to absorb the runoff of excess water. Squeeze the sponge frequently as you work to reduce the number of drips.

Working from the top down. Visual section of the wall and start at the top, work your way down. Be sure to dry each section with a soft towel to prevent scratches.

Simple Start. The key is to use the softest possible that the cleaning solution is still effective. Start by wiping down the walls with warm water only. If that does not work, add dishwashing liquid to the water. To work harder, use a solution of warm water DIY one-gallon containing one cup of ammonia, vinegar half-cup, and a quarter-cup of baking soda. Pour into a spray bottle for easy application.

Treating stains Separately. Pasta mix of half-cup of baking soda and water one-ons. Do a patch test on a less visible part of the wall. If it passes without watermark or dull finish, apply the paste to each stain. Use a gentle circular motion to avoid disturbing the paint. Rinse and dry as usual.

Products commercial use Caution. Some cleanup work so stubborn they require additional reinforcements. Look for solvent-free cleaning products that are environmentally friendly and non-toxic.

Follow Preventive Maintenance. After a sparkling wall again, taking preventive measures to minimize the effects of dirt and stains. Periodically vacuum wall using a soft brush attachment, then go over them with a cloth-covered broom or dust mop sprayed with the product. fingerprints and other marks treat as soon as possible.

Experts recommend painting the interior walls of most every five to seven years, so use that as a benchmark. Meanwhile, these measures will keep the walls looked clean and fresh.
